As far as Horror is concerned......there hasn't been dog shit to look forward to in forever, it seemed. Cabin in the Woods is the last one I was genuinely looking forward to. I guess. But all summer long, not a god damn thing. What's coming up in October? Paranormal 4? I haven't even seen 2 nor 3 yet. Another Saw movie in 3D I assume? Probably another Final Destination in 3D as well? The Texas Chainsaw in 3D could be really cool. Still no word from when Rob Zombies Lords of Salem will be released. The only release date for Alexandre Ajas remake of Maniac is late December for France. No word for this side of the Atlantic. Pumped for that. But man, boring ass summer for the horror community, aae? Weak.

I didn't realize how bare it's been til you mentioned it.  The last straight horror movie in wide release was Chernobyl Diaries I think, which came out at the end of May.  I'm going to rent [rec]3 and V/H/S on demand as soon as they're available, that's what I'm most excited for.  Other than that, there's a movie coming out in October called Sinister that looks good, and I don't understand why all you dummies hate on the PA movies so much.  I'll definitely be seeing the next one, they haven't let me down yet.

There is a TCM 3D coming out, but we get a break from Saw and Final Destination this year, since they've both technically come to a conclusion.  I know, I know, I've seen all the "new beginnings" of other series, but here's hoping.

I may have acquired a copy of [rec]3. If you don't rent it before next Saturday afternoon, traum, you are more than welcome to join me for an "[rec] Saturday." It's hard for me to make plans a whole week in advance, but I'll do my best to make it happen.

The Possession comes to Theaters August 31 and V/H/S comes to ON Demand the same day and then to select theaters in October.  Looking forward to them both.

Not to mention that we had the Alien connected  Prometheus- which very much turns into a full on horror film in the third act - in theaters earlier this year.

I think Dibbuk Box was a better title for The Possession, GC. I'm still going to see it, but the original title had more flavor to it.
