And it comes down to this.... on Saturday April 2cnd my first horror film- the short Supply & Demand - will make it's big screen  debut as part of the Palm Beach Film School showcase of short films. Going to be somewhat bittersweet, since this will also mark my final event associated with the film school. Once it's done, that's it. I've officially moved on toward whatever lies beyond school.

Thanks guys! GMG, I singled this comment out because, yeah, it hit me the other day that- after years of being a horror fan-  I'm actually only a few days away from walking into a movie theatre and watching a horror film I wrote, directed and edited play to an audience. Short film or not, it's an amazing feeling. How many of us ever get the chance to say that we did something like that? I'm ecstatic.

Definitely........ I'm pretty sure the high you're going to feel once the credits roll, will be unmatched. Too bad there wasn't a rich Horrorwatcher among us with enough disposable cash to fly us all down there to enjoy the experience with you....  That would be a good time. Although GC and Earp might try and tag team good old GMG into submission....right in the middle of theater's consessions. hahahaha

How'd everything go Splatt?

Sorry it took so long to respond to this, GMG. It was great! There were some sound and projection issues(not only with my film,  but throughout the entire screening) but my short was still very well received. In fact, that's actually the best response I've gotten from an audience since the premiere of my first short film. In about a week I'm  submitting Supply & Demand to the Freak Show Horror Film Festival happening in Orlando this October . I'll let you all know if I get in.

The best part of the entire event was a cool little moment that happened at the end after the screening was over and the theater emptied out. This film was my fourth short film since late 2007. It also marks the end of my association with the Palm Beach Film School in terms of using their resources and categorizing any of my future projects as being a PBFS production. So for me, this wasn't merely the screening of my first horror film,it also marked a moment of transition. Whatever happens from here on in in terms of film making, , I'm out of the nest and on my own.

So, in what turned out to be a surprisingly emotional bit of irony, aside from one of the leads in Supply & Demand, one of the leads from my first film and one from my third were on hand for the screening of a couple of short films  they had appeared in.  Now factor in that I appeared onscreen in my second film and when I met up with these three people in the lobby following the screening, the assembled group represented each of my four films. Literally four years of my life..countless hours of shooting and editing, setting up lighting, crafting a shot list, writing screenplays and even casting..all staring back at me in the form of friends I've made. Friends who gave me 110% when that camera rolled and who, in return, were captured during a brief moment of time, doing what they do best as part of the body work I've produced thus far. I can think of no better note on which to close out the PBFS era of my life and move ahead  into the independently made/produced  short and feature screenwriting phase.
