preseason, bro......  the year the Pats went undefeated in the regular season, I'm pretty sure they lost all 4 of their preseason games. You think Belichick gives a flying fuck about winning that game in Detroit? Meanwhile, that pre-season game vs the Pats might be the Lions high mark of the year. It was their Superbowl.

The NFL is a joke, I don't care if they "worked it out" or not....... obviously I'd rather a lil entertainment on Sunday afternoons during the miserable Winter months of the northeast.... 

Dolphins suck. They're going to be awful this year. Not even Ray Finkle would give their season a glimmer of hope. And the Pats are STACKED.....again. That D with Hansworth, Wilfork, Thomas, etc....  just filthy. And look at how many options Brady has.....   going to be a laser show this year on offense......laser show, son.

I've always thought that was a real clever bit by Larry David and Seinfeld. I couldnt help but think of that when I read the horrific news this morning of the Russian hockey team that lost almost if not ALL of their entire roster in a plane crash yesterday. Several former and current NHL players included. I believe the count is at 36 now......36 players and coaches ranging from ages 20-37. They were supposed to open their season today. Humans haven't invented a word horrific enough to describe this tragedy. Unbelievable.

 Both teams put up a solid fight- I was pleasantly suprised to see that it wasn't a blowout by any definition,with some some excellent plays coming from both sides. But - at the end of the fourth- you guys played the better game. So I respectfully tip my hat to N.E. for a well earned win.

By the way, I followed the game on the radio,something I've never really been inclined to do prior to this.. and it was actually really exciting. I may very well continue to do this in the future.

well.....if you watched the game on television, you'd probably see that the Patriots just man-handled Miami for 9/10ths of that game. Other than your opening drive, the Pats did what they wanted to do on both ends of the ball as well as special teams. That's what you call coaching. The Patriots have the best coaching staff in all of organized sports.....you may get some success in one facet of the game.....but you won't be able to repeat it after you've shown it.

I was laughing my ass off in that 4th quarter.....Brady already has passed his career high in passing yards for a game.....then decides to add 99 yards to that total in one play to Welker. Just awesome. He's the man. What a pleasure it is to watch that man do what he does.

I was surprised how well Miami moved the ball at times. If Bush stays healthy, you could get to 4 wins this year       I hate that coach Miami has......fucking relax buddy.....you scored on the opening drive. Good FOR you. Stop jumping up and down and pretend like you've done it before......   hopefully he payed attention to what was going on across the field at the other sideline.....maybe he learned a thing or two. That's how professionals get the job done.

I forget to comment on the radio point you made......   I think football is the worst sport to listen to on the radio. The majority of the attraction we have with football is the pleasantness it has on the eyes..... it's like a really violent ballet. Baseball on the other hand is AWESOME on the radio in my opinion......being outside on a hot summer day and listening to Joe Castig broadcast a BoSox game... "WAY BACK....WAAAAAY BACK!"     Love it.

Baseball on the other hand is AWESOME on the radio in my opinion......being outside on a hot summer day and listening to Joe Castig broadcast a BoSox game... "WAY BACK....WAAAAAY BACK!"     Love it.

I was entertained by the radio broadcast. Yes , a visual experienced is preferred, but with a television blackout going on in my viewing area, options were limited . Besides, the commentary was  surprisingly effective in conveying a sense of what was happening on the field.

Baseball-televised or broadcast over the radio- is generally my cure for insomnia. The World Series is usually worth a watch,but the rest of the season? Snooze city.

Once again, I find myself commenting in the sports thread to acknowledge whatever the hell they put in the drinking water over in Detroit. The Lions are 3-0 for the first time since 1980...not a bad start for a team which- for the past few seasons in particular - has been the worst in the entire NFL. I love real life underdog stories, so I'll be watching these guys closely. I won't be at all surprised if they end up in the playoffs.
