I realize it's only preseason..but I must have woken up in an alternate reality or something today, because I'd swear that the NFL scoreboard says that the Bengals beat the Patriots.

I don't like the Pats..but that's a sentence I never thought I'd be able to type.

It does seem strange yes....  key phrase being, it's only preseason.

May I add....the Pats offense may be better than the 07 campaign. Maybe ALOT better actually. Which is.....just.... scary.

Alright so what do we got....    College Football starting this weekend. Pumped. First night of the season and we already got hay makers thrown.

I know this is blasphemy coming from a die hard RedSox fan. But I said it at the beggining of the year....and they've done nothing but add credence to my prediction.....the New York Yankees will win the World Series. Not only that......I don't see them NOT winning it next year either. They're just simply STACKED. Starting pitching is rock solid with CC, Burnett, Petite, and Chamberlin. Middle of the bullpen is solitified with Hughes pitching lights out and it's all leading to Mo Rivera in the 9th. Lets not forget that lineup....  up and down it's just stupid how deep they are. It'll be a fun ALCS (lets not kid ourselves and pretend it's NOT going to be NY and BOS in the alcs) but I just don't see any team beating the Bronx bombers unfortuntely.

Cannot wait for Monday night football in just over a week. I want to see Jarod Mayo closeline TO coming across the middle. Fuckin hate that clown....

HEE-WACK!!! And the Gators bring it home with a 62-3 ass whuppin' on Charleston. Booyah!

Big kudos also to the Fighting Irish for their first shut out opener since 2002. Nicely done, ND.

They didn't cover the spread though!!!!!! I almost shat shepards pie when I saw FLA -73.

Jimmy C looked SICK. Granted, Nevada's defense is on some high school JV shit, but the fact NDs defense pitched a shut out against a team that put up serious points last year, was a pleasent sight to see. Good start to Weiss's 5th year as internship (Anyone see the billboard in South Bend?) LOL

I'm really glad that I had college football to fall back on (another Gators swamp romp!!) because the NFL openers let me down, with my two favorite teams (the 'Fins and the Rams) sucking all kinds of ass yesterday.

**SIGH***..Gonna be a loo-oong season.  Angry

Great weekend for sports. Sox swept the Rays out of town, including a sweep of a double header yesterday. I actually got a chance to soak in last nights 5 oclock affair from the center field bleachers. Beautiful day.... watched Lester throw 8 solid innings in a 1 hit 6K effort.....and the Fenway bunnies were in full affect. The walk from the garage to the ball park, all around....the females are just out of this world. Head turning left and right. Anyways, I digress....

My favorite athlete of all time laid another ass whoopin on the entire field in an 8 shot, kick your opponents in the ball sack-esk style of victory. Tiger Woods -19, 2nd place Jimmy Furyk at -11. You can pretty much hand Tiger the FedEx cup with the 10MIL that goes along with it.

Solid start to the NFL season. Some really good games including that incredible ending in the Denver matchup. Monday night football tonight whores.....  get ready to watch the start to another unstoppable Patriot offensive juggernaught at work. Tom Brady might put up 5 touches tonight against that joke of a Buffalo secondary. Watch out for Mayo going HOUSE on that pussy TO and that clown of a QB they got.....

Unbelievable ND-Michigan game. Obviously wasnt happy at all with the results but you couldnt ask for a better game overall.

We got a free weekend of Direct ticket this Sunday.  I was stoked to finally watch a Rams game this year.  It's been a while, since they are rarely televised.  Anyway, they tossed up a shit biscuit.  28-0.  Is it too early to start looking forward to next year?

Good college weekend.  My fucking WVU game wasn't televised and I couldn't even buy it.  It was on ESPN 360.  I'm not really sure what that is.  I can't really justify buying the whole college gameday package either.  So, to summarize, my sister in Tennessee got to watch the WVU home football game this weekend in the comfort of her home, while I (currently residing in the actual state) got to hear it on the radio.  It wasn't even a scrub game, it was vs. East Carolina.  Not a bad team at all.  They pushed our taints in last year, but we got 'em back this year.  Bam!

Interesting fantasy football weekend.  As of late last night, I had Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings left on my team.  My adversary had me by 6 points and has Tom Brady left.  Late in the 4th quarter, both of my guys had 3 points a piece.  I thought I was doomed.  Dejected, I went to bed cursing the fantasy projection gods.  Alas, the gods answered my cursing.  Whilst I was in slumber, Rodgers threw a last minute 50 yard TD bomb to Jennings and my matchup was salvaged.  I'm not out of the woods yet though.  If Brady gets 30 fantasy points tonight, I'm Texas toast.  Still, at least it's respectable now.

It's good to have football back in my life...

What a game last night. Phenomenal start to the season. Was scary for a bit there. Down 11 to the Bills with just a little north of 2 minutes left. With Brady and Billy B at the helm, there's never worries till zeros are on the clock. Brady is just cooler than the other side of the pillow, son. 70 seconds later the Pats are ahead.

That's just how we roll......

You got a little lucky there man.  The Pats could have been in deep shit if that kickoff returner guy didn't fumble.  You could have still pulled it off, but it would have been hard.

True that. Although with the decade the Pats have had.....we no longer call series of events like that Luck....   it's just the way things are. Period. 1 down, 18 to go.

Hopefully Mayos injury isnt serious. If we lose him on D, forget about it.

Fucking Dolphins, man. Sounds like it was intense (at least they were apparently in the game) , but they still lost. Excuse me while I bang my head against a tree for a while.

Best part of the weekend sportswise for Splatterscribe: The Jets victory over the Pats (that was sweee-eet..actually got to watch that one) and The Giants beating the Cowboys after all of that hype surrounding their new stadium.

Yeah, that Jets-Pats game was weak. Powerful weak. Haven't seen the Pats play that emotionless since the Drew Bledsoe days. Oh well... Tom Bradys first regular season loss since 2006 so I guess I'll give them a break. Jets Defense looks intense though, man. I knew their O line is second to none in the NFL but seeing they got a rookie QB, rookie head coach....figured they'd be a mediocre team at best. But that D is no joke and that'll carry you a LONG way in the NFL.

Yeah....Florida just sucks for pro sports. The Sox tried throwing you a perenial all star in Hanley Ramirez but things arent exactly working out there huh? The Fins look like they might have a decent squad this year but they'll end up in the middle of the pack as far as the NFL is concerned (7-9, 8-8 perhaps). Oh well, you atleast you have college brawls I MEAN football to look forward to  Wink

I'm posting this with the understanding no one gives a hoot.... but I'm excited about it and a little bored at work soooo

Today is my golf league (through work) Championship and you best believe I'm there. 30 players in the league and I made it to the finals. $225 guaranteed and $325 if I win. There's also long drive holes and closest to the pin with additonal prizes possible for GMG to take down! Then it all culminates with a huge buffet, all the beers I can drink, and a big game of Texas hold em' in the clubhouse to end the night. You best believe I got tomorrow off of work to recover/celebrate my inevitable victory. It's only 9 holes and I'm giving 4 strokes (playing at a 6 handicap right now....opponet is at a 10)  so I got my work cut out for me.
