Thought it was fucking stupid actually.....   and Rev Zombies assumption (I'll leave spoilers aside) but c'mon.....    all I'll say is, they were kids....with MASKS on. How in the fuck is Crowley going to..... nevermind.

You can accept within the context of this movie that  a dead man can return to life and repeatedly relive the night he was killed ,but the fact that he knew who the kids under the masks were stretches plausibility?

Exactly. They actually refer to Victor as a ghost throughout this movie. That's beside my point. Last I checked Rev Zombie was a human who ran a voodoo shop. I'm referring to HIS thought process that Victor would know who the kids were in the masks who lit his house on fire.....some 30-40 years ago. And this entire angle played in huge with the storyline, no? Hense my problem.

You referred to the chain saw. I actually saw a picture of Victor holding that huge chainsaw before the movie came out.....and that shot was not used in the flick. Too bad, cuz it was badass. I had an issue with that kill as well.....  it just looked stupid with 2 people on the business end of that thing. Victor is pretty fucking big....but c'mon now....   it just looked silly. The first kill too was pretty corny. It wet my gore whistle, but it was pretty fucking stupid too.

hey man....at the end of the day it was pleasant on the eyes more so than not. Glad I saw it. Even happier I didnt buy it though.

I'm going to create a separate thread on this because I want to jump in as well.  Great review by the way, Splat.

I haven't watched too much horror lately.  I've been watching a lot of really interesting documentaries.  But I did rent Case 39, and I was pleasantly surprised.  No masterpiece by any means, but I heard it was terrible and it really wasn't.  Renee Zellwegger was in minimum squint mode, and that little girl is creepy.  She's a great young actress.  Most people probably know her from Silent Hill, but I will never be able to associate her with anything else than Terry Gilliam's Tideland.  Have any of you guys seen that movie?  I've shown it to several people, and so far the unanimous opinion is "That was fucked up, man."

Caught "Hall Pass" yesterday afternoon. Great flick. A lot of really really funny sequences. The Farrely Brothers are awesome.....   I wouldnt put this one anywhere near Dumb & Dumber or Outside Providence.....  but this one will have a cult following in the future I believe.

nothing beats Owen Wilson with a big black cock 2 inches from his face. Priceless.

Like most of their branches, the Blockbuster store down the street from me is finally being put out of our misery. I'm loathe to rejoice at the misfortune of others, but that company so full deserves it. Even after a nearly half billion dollar lawsuit resulting from their piss poor business practices, they still continued to base their operation on a frankly outmoded and increasingly intolerable business model that held consumers in the utmost contempt. Now they think that by focusing only on their on-line venue that they'll survive, but Netflix and Redbox will likely put an end to that pipe dream within a year. Put a fork in Blockbuster..those fuckers are done.

At any rate, everything was 10%-30% off, so I picked up Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Taxi Driver and Robots for less than eighteen bucks total.

I'm with you on Blockbuster.  80% of my money paid towards Blockbuster during my college days was late fees.

While in the movie section at Walmart, my four-year-old daughter picked up a Strawberry Shortcake DVD.  She then sees Justice League - The New Frontier.  Both were $5.00 and I told her that she could get only one.  She picked the Justice League.  Yep. That's my daughter.

Yes!

At some point early in our marriage, the Mr and I were DD shopping and had about $10 to spend.  So we were picking up this and that, and he held up Conan the Barbarian and I yelled "hell yes!"  He blinked and said "God love you" and we headed to the counter.  It's nice when stuff like that works out.

Read somewhere recently that "weird" peole should consider having more children so there are more people like them for them to hang out with in the world.  Interesting to hear some annecdotal backup for that!

Just rented dinner for shmucks and due date, and wow both of those are pretty fuckin hilarious, and also pretty dark...very good movies though.

Horrorwise I rented the last exorcism paranormal activity 2 and a nice little flick called i sell the dead.

Last excorcism was eh, pretty good i def like the idea of the crazy fraud preacher. Paranormal activity 2 was also pretty goodi like how they have that "break in" and that sets up the whole story for round the clock survellance in every room...that noone ever watches...except like once...

I sell the dead, fucking awesome, great film, has a strong aftertaste of creepshow, def odd...sometimes its a bit too much of a comedy, but its a fun one to watch with freinds and those who arent big into the horror genre yet. don want to give anything away but yeah...pretty good film

I just picked up My Bloody Valentine: 3-D and the unrated Eurotrip from the local Blockbuster for ~$16.  Store closing sales are great.

I guess the Ball- er- Blockbuster store closings are happening nationwide. Not sure if it's only a certain percentage of the locations or all of them, but it's good to know that after years of overcharging for DVD's and ripping people off via unearned late fees that their loss is our gain. Yep, I'm gloating.

The only aspect of this I regret is that at least a few people will be out of a job. That stinks. However, this winds back to he fact that, apparently, a bunch of chimps were running the damned place. If they had been a better company, this wouldn't have happened.

On second thought., why give chimps such a bad rap?

Gorific, Dinner for Schmucks and Due Date.......dark? Really? Wow. Anyways....

Eurotrip might be the worst movie I've ever wasted money to see in the theaters.....ever. Fucking worst attempt at a comedy I've ever witnessed probably. Pisspoor from start to finish. Good score with MBV3D though.

This is  how I felt about Napoleon Dynamite. Viewing that movie was like watching a really bad traffic accident. I couldn't tear my eyes away, yet simultaneously I wanted to commit ritual suicide for the entire running time.. How in the hell that movie became such a pop phenomenon is beyond my comprehension.
