211  General Category / Book of the Dead / Re: We really need to get more members. on: August 28, 2008, 03:23:02 PM
There are plenty of sites.  Bloody-Discgusting and horror-movies.ca both have pretty good followings.  Fearnet established a decent following since its inception.  It's not so much a matter of members.  It's a matter of DEDICATED memebrs.  Quality over Quantity.  Members here are probably the coolest I've ever encounterd.  Most other websites have jerkoffs and dickheads.  None of them come here.  Honestly, if we had lots of members and 90% of them were assholes, I probably wouldn't be on as much at all.

You also have to realize that life sometimes has a way of stepping in and the time to go online and post on a forums isn't always there.  I'm off for three days in a row and spend a lot of that time online.  That's my excuse, but a lot of other people aren't as fortunate.

Well said GC. The more well populated sites do have alot of assholes that just fill the threads with nonsense. Granted this site doesn't get the thousands of people and posts a day, but that is somehow better. There really is a fairly small group of people that post on here regularly and I find that to be better. You can better get to know people and have discussions without having to sift through too much crap.

Nice woek GC. I'll be sure to catch you on the East Side in that de-lux apartment in the sky.

Thanks for backing me up GC. When I first read his response I though to myself, "Am I crazy or is this guy genuinely offended.
You also failed to give a deep expression of the feelings that a few .jpeg images of some paintings inspired for you, so expect to have a personal attack aimed at you as well.

Additionally, Case in Point...

The photo doesn't do the painting justice...

I am offended, I'd just love to indulge myself in your works. Pretty good? Yeah...whatever

Offended!? Why just because I am now bowing down to you with a statement like, "Wow man, that fucking amazing!"
Don't fucking ask for criticism if all you are looking for is your ego to be blown up.
Fuck Off!

Crank was awful.
That is all.

The first one is pretty good however the third one looks like that clown Marilyn Manson from the Mecahanical Animals era.

I wouldn't trust him to direct traffic.

Seriously though, I do want to see Postal, just because it seems twisted enough to be somewhat enjoyable.  I read the spoiler and it seems like something that I would watch (I might watch it only ONCE, but that still constitutes a watch.)

I agree with you on the Postal aspect GC. I had played the game in the past and would watch it at least once as well.
The directing traffic line is a classic BTW.

A little late on Clockwork Orange indeed. I had seen it at the ripe old age of 11 and it has been one of my top 5 movies since.

Figured I would not be the person to speak for the members that have been here for a while, but this is indeed a anti- Uwe Boll site. Watched the trailer and it looks medicore at its best. It's straight to DVD as have been the last few Boll flicks.

I dont get the complaint on the downfall of Suncoast. If the argument was to find the hard to find titles, wouldnt price rather than store be the prime factor in deciding where to shop. I had stumbled upon deep discount a while back (not sure if I had ever told any of you about the good prices) and for a while back then all my DVD s were being bought from then. The prices were unbeatable for the hard to find titles and the added bonus is without a doubt no shipping and handling whereas those costs can often negate any sort of deal a website offers. They also have special sales quite often on specific distributers DVDs so for me that would trump Suncoast anyway.

Caught the trailer today on a DVD I rented and would have to agree that it does look promising. There are however no dollar theatres near me so I'll have to wait until DVD to check it out.

Return to Sleepaway Camp has also already been made, actually has been completed for a long while now and it is actually being released in October.
224  General Category / Scrying / Re: It's official Freddy Kruger is......BILLY BOB THORTON! on: August 17, 2008, 10:21:44 AM
had read this as a rumor a few days ago and was hoping that it was only that. Not knocking Thortons acting ability but I just cannot see him in the role. Its clear that for any true fans that the only Freddy is and always will be Englund. I had also read that a rumor was Ben Foster up for the role and I would be more open to seeing that as I have seen him in several films and always enjoy his performance.

Looks like the balls still in my court.
